I’ve been on the lookout for a white winter coat. And when I’m on a mission to add something to my closet, it’s fun to share it with you!
I had some pre-determined ideas of what winter white looks like. In the process of shopping, I discovered that shades of winter white vary from bright white to variations of beige. And you’ll see the whole spectrum in the coats shown in this post.
My head’s been swimming a bit putting this post together! Trying to keep the styles straight and links connected to the correct coat style has been an exercise in complicated organization. I went a little crazy with the number of coat styles I tried–ten! I hope it’s fun for you to see all the styles and doesn’t feel as challenging as it did to me to keep the styles straight! Lesson for me: Don’t pull so many styles into one post.
Here we go!
I don’t plan to go into detail on each of the styles; I’ll let the images do the talking. Except for this:
- The first seven styles are from Amazon at very budget friendly prices. They all have good reviews.
- The last three styles are from Nordstrom–not quite as budget friendly, but they’re all on sale currently.
- Most of the styles come in a variety of colors, so if winter white isn’t your jam, you’ll have other options.
- The best way for you to get information for each the styles is to click on the images or in the shopping widget at the bottom of the post to navigate to each style’s webpage.
Photo shoot note: You can tell in the photos that these pictures were taken on different days and with different weather conditions. The location is a small redwood grove on the campus of Sonoma State University in Northern California. The weather during these shoots–spanning a week or so–ran the gamut from sunny to wet to gray. It’s so interesting to see the different tones and colors that show up based on the weather and sunshine.
Peter Pan Collar Pea Coat
Patch Pocket Mid-Long Coat
Double-Breasted Mid-Long Pea Coat
Mid-Long Wool-Blend Pea Coat
Belted Wrap Long Coat
White Classic Trench Coat
Winter White Long Cardigan
Note: I actually ordered this by mistake–it’s not a coat. But I decided it was worth including. This cardigan is a nice weight–it feels more like a winter cardigan than a spring piece. It won’t keep you completely toasty on a cold day, but it’s a nice topper for those warmer fall and winter days as well as the transition months from winter to spring.
Sam Edelman Textured Coat
As of this post publication date, this coat is only available in extra small in the winter white shade (they call it sand). It’s also available in some sizes in two shades of blue (and on sale!).
