Scarf Style: A Versatile Accessory
Are you a “scarf person”? I’d have to say that I am. I’ve been wearing scarves a lot this winter. It’s a logical time to be wearing a scarf – the cold months. A scarf is useful for keeping warm in cold weather. But I enjoy wearing scarves in the spring as well. Beyond the utilitarian use to warm our necks, a scarf is a wonderful accessory that can brighten your look and be an expression of your personality or your mood.
Here’s another thing to think about. We do a lot of sitting. Many of us sit at a desk for work. We sit at a table for meals and visits. We communicate via Zoom and only the top part of our body is visible. I’d venture to guess that the majority of the time people see us only from our waist up. It’s great to wear a stylish pair of pants and fabulous shoes, but who really sees them?! So play up your look from the waist up and try a scarf.
Just a quick comparison below between two looks: a colorful, patterned scarf accessory and the same look sans scarf. What do you think?
I’ve borrowed photos for this post from the past couple of years to show several different looks created by accessorizing with a scarf. Although I seem to be stuck on one or two ways I wear a scarf (the quick wrap and loop method!), there are many ways to “style” your scarf. Explore 16 ways to tie a scarf in the video below.
