The Necklet. Cute name. But what is it? Necklet is a solution. I might even call it a bit of a life saver. It’s definitely, for me, been a frustration reducer. Okay, but, what is it?
The Necklet™ is a patented lightweight “magnetic layering clasp made of a lead and nickel free zinc alloy, plated in tarnish resistant 18k Gold, Rose Gold and White Gold.”
If you are a fan of layering necklaces, you’ll want to know about Necklet.
I bought my Neklet about a month ago after seeing it in my Instagram feed over and over and over (I guess those ads work!).
I was intrigued since I do layer my necklaces. I almost always wear two together: my Stella & Dot engravable bar necklace (mine has each of my chlildren’s and husband’s first initials) and my Tiffany initial K necklace. And I was constantly untangling them, especially because I often wear them when I sleep.
How it Works
The Necklet itself is a small piece. It has two sides that magnet together. One side has three necklace clasps and the other has three jump rings. The initial process of attaching my necklaces felt a little awkward. It’s recommended to lay necklaces on a flat surface to attach to the necklace, and that is definitely the way that works best.
Once I had attached my necklaces, it was super simple to put them on. Just pick up each side of the Necklet and the magnetic sides almost find each other without help. One side has two tiny pieces that protrude that fit into two corresponding tiny holes on the other side to keep the magnets in place. I was a little worried at first that the magnets might come apart while wearing, but I’ve found that they have a strong hold while wearing. In the beginning, I even wore the Necklet while sleeping since that’s what I was used to, mostly because it was such a hassle to unhook the two very small clasps every night and them redo them again in the morning. However, I realized that’s it’s so easy to put on and take off the Necklet, that I don’t have to sleep with my necklaces any more.
You Might Want More Than One!
The Necklet comes in three plate finishes: 18k gold, rose gold and white gold.
You might want to have more than one if you like to layer different necklaces regularly or to have finishes that match your different colors of necklaces.
The Necklet is $39.99. I’m not sure if this is the “always” price because on the website it shows $59.99 crossed out with $39.99 next to it. I think it’s worth $40, but I’m not sure I’d pay $60 for it.
This is one of those “gadgets” or “hacks” that I like to share when I discover them. After trying it for a month, I’m happy to give it a thumbs up! That being said, I won’t tell you it never tangles. If not laying flat, like when you take it off to put it away, the necklaces could turn and tangle a bit. But it’s not like when two or more necklaces twist together and become nearly impossible to untangle.
Note: I’m not receiving any compensation for this review. I just want to share a product that I’ve found to have value.
In this photo I’m wearing the Stella & Dot engravable bar necklace, the Tiffany sterling sliver initial necklace (all initials available), and the Messages in Metal birthstone silver tag necklace (check out my Messages in Metal post – a super cool line of personalized jewelry).
