I love leopard print shoes, especially leopard print loafers. I consider them a staple of my shoe wardrobe. If I don’t have at least one pair, it feels like an important style piece is missing. Oh, and I use them as a neutral accessory staple. “Leopard print is neutral???!!!” you may be saying to yourself. Yep. It is a fun print that you can incorporate into a variety of outfits and mix with almost any color. Check out a few looks that I styled here (and a few I borrowed – see my note below). I hope you feel inspired to have some fun and try incorporating leopard into your fall and winter looks (the season is just around the corner).
It’s been a wild week at the wonderful independent school where I spend my most of my weekdays as part of an amazing team. School starts Monday, and getting ready to welcome back our students and their families has consumed my typical blogging hours. I had planned to share photos of the way I like to incorporate my leopard loafers in a variety of looks. I even had a couple of outfits hanging in my car so that I could sneak in a quick photo shoot during a midday break. Best laid plans . . . So in this post you’ll find an outdoor photo shoot, some indoor mirror selfies, and a few images I borrowed from Pinterest that are very like how I had planned to style my leopard loafers. The main thing is, I hope you discover some looks that you hadn’t considered wearing and are inspired to try something new and fun . . . and maybe a little out of your typical comfort zone. Hey, it’s only clothes!
This is a classic combination of white jeans with leopard loafers. It’s easy to wear and not too “out there” if the thought of incorporating leopard into your style is new.
I love burgundy jeans and the leopard print shoes provides a striking contrast.
Olive color pants are a great staple in a year-round wardrobe. The look is fairly understated – pair the pants with leopard, and you’ve easily elevated the understated to eye catching.
Red is the perfect color to combine with leopard print. The leopard print loafers ground the bright cardigan in this look.
One of my favorite combos is a plaid shirt with leopard loafers. It never occurred to me that it worked until I saw a cool “younger” woman wearing it. And here’s Jessica Alba to prove it!
Pairing leopard and black is the perfect match. It can go from super casual to super dressy. It’s a great way to try out the leopard look.
I was excited to show you leopard shoes with pink pants – but I ran out of time for that photo. So I had to borrow this photo to prove to you that the pairing works!
Is your interest piqued? Want to try the leopard print look but not so sure you want to commit to leopard print shoes? There are other ways you can test out the look without committing to more than you’re comfortable. Try adding a scarf or fun bag to your look. If you like it, then go for a pair of shoes. There are tons of styles – everything from slip on tennies to dressy pumps and even edgy boots. Have fun with it!
