I come from a long line of women who have never gone gray. Well, maybe not a long line, but at least a line. My grandmother, who lived until the age of 93, did not have gray hair even on her last day. I’ve never seen my mother with anything but dark hair, and I am confident I never will. And I, like them, plan to be a “natural” brunette forever.
I really admire those silver-haired beauties who look stunningly elegant. But that’s just not me. Maybe I’m hanging on to the illusion of youth by a thread, but I’m not ready to let go.
So I include my hair color appointments in the monthly budget. And I spend time in my bathroom on root touch-ups in the weeks between color appointments.
If you, like me, have decided not to go the way of precious-metal-hued hair, you know how fast those gray roots appear – much faster than scheduled hair appointments. To avoid the skunk stripe look between my color appointments, I use one of my favorite products: Color Wow Root Cover Up. I use Color Wow regularly to cover my root outgrowth, and I love it! Color Wow has become one of the beauty products I count as a necessity! It’s so simple to use – it’s a powder similar to eye shadow and comes with a double-sided brush to easily apply it. Brush it on your dry hair where you have outgrowth, and you’ll really be amazed at the coverage. Color Wow comes in 7 colors, from platinum to black. The powder even has a little shimmer to it and gives a look of shiny hair. The best part is that the coverage lasts until the next washing.
If you deal with root outgrowth, whether it be from bleaching or streaking your hair or due to gray hair, you need to check out Color Wow.
I’ve tried to take some before and after photos (disclaimer: they were selfies – think about how challenging that was!) of my recent root cover that I did this week (yep, and I still have 3 weeks to go until my next color appointment!) and you can see them here. I don’t know if they do a good job of showing the “before” outgrowth and then the “after” brown where the gray used to be. So I included an official demo video showing how easy it is to use.
Trust me – it’s easy and it works.
Here’s the demo video:
Here are my selfies taken before and after using medium brown Color Wow (hey – I tried):
